Now therefore in consideration of the promises, I the said William Brown have given, granted, bargained and sell and convey unto the said Robert Brown a certain tract or parcel of land in the said county where I now reside adjoining the lands of the heirs of Hairlip Harris, Elizy Harris and others and containing one hundred and forty acres, more or less, to have and to hold the said tract of land to him, the said Robert Brown his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever. JAMES H ARRIET ALL MY PATIENTS CALL NUMBER OR DEWEY FREEĪlso the Negro slaves, Nancy, Letty, Peter, Frank, William, Haywood, Ellen, Julia and Hannah, also four horses now in my possession, all my stock of cattle, sheep, and hogs, one still, blacksmiths tools and farming utensils, all my crop of wheat, corn oats, hay, and my household and kitchen furniture, and all my other property of every kind and description whatsoever to have and to hold the above Negro slaves and all other property to him, the said Robert Brown, his heirs and assigns, executors and administrators forever, free and discharged of any and all encumbrances whatsoever. And for the better security of the title hereby conveyed and for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators to and with the said Robert Brown and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns do warrant and forever defend the same from the lawful claim of any and all whatsoever.
